Bien s\u00fbr, en Suisse et dans de nombreux autres pays hautement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s, il y a longtemps que les animaux de rente ne font plus partie du m\u00e9nage et n\u2019en assurent plus la survie. N\u00e9anmoins, aujourd\u2019hui encore, de nombreuses personnes passent leur vie quotidienne au contact ou \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 directe d\u2019animaux. Ce sont d\u2019une part les agricultrices et agriculteurs qui, pour la seule Suisse, s\u2019occupent de plusieurs millions de bovins, porcs, moutons et ch\u00e8vres. Mais ce sont aussi les personnes qui se passionnent pour l\u2019\u00e9quitation ou encore celles qui ont chez elles un chat, un chien ou autre animal de compagnie. Pr\u00e8s d\u2019un foyer suisse sur deux h\u00e9berge au moins un animal de compagnie. Les zoos et parcs animaliers exercent une grande fascination, en particulier sur les enfants et les familles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00eatre humain partage l\u2019espace de vie naturel avec les animaux de compagnie, de rente et sauvages. Les animaux sont nos compagnons, souvent aussi nous les faisons travailler pour nous et exploitons les produits animaux. Mais c\u00f4toyer les animaux a aussi un revers: la proximit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00eatre humain avec l\u2019animal favorise la transmission de maladies. La perte d\u2019espaces naturels de vie et des formes d\u2019\u00e9levage inad\u00e9quates favorisent la propagation d\u2019agents pathog\u00e8nes. L\u2019Office f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et des affaires v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaires attire aussi l\u2019attention sur le changement climatique: celui-ci a pour effet que des maladies infectieuses transmises par les moustiques et les tiques se r\u00e9pandent de plus en plus loin dans l\u2019h\u00e9misph\u00e8re nord.
